Great ONline Cookie exchange…

This is the most amazing collection of cookies you’ll see anywhere. and of course i show up LATE …duh!!!

Okay, my recipe is one from my childhood, one my Mom made every single Christmas. It’s a bit labor intensive, but not horrible. If you like almonds, Swedish shortbread, you’ll like this one!

And just another note…this is my 2nd post of the day since i screwed up and forgot this was cookie day…so if you’re here looking for a sexy story…you’ll find it right after this post!

 Nilla’s  Swedish Green Cookies

Step 1.

1/3 C butter

1/3 C sugar

2 C flour

2 egg YOLKS, beaten

mix sugar and flour, cut in butter. Once mixed well, add in egg yolks (best by hand but a mixer will work as well. Mixture is NOT smooth, but rather grainy…
Spread onto a cookie sheet (with sides) and tamp it down flat/compact.
preheat oven to 350 but….do NOT put pan in oven yet!!!!!
Step 2
1Tbsp butter
1/3 C sugar
1/3 C flour
1 egg
1/4 D finely chopped almonds
Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and mix well to combine. Add flour and almonds, and set aside.
Put cookie sheet with Step 1 mix into oven for 5 minutes. (the butter/egg will be just past “gooey” stage.) DO NOT BROWN!!
Remove cookie sheet from oven.
Add Step 2 mix a bit at a time, spooning dollops of mix around the surface of the mix.
Using a butter knife or spreader dipped in hot water, smooth mix 2 onto mix one (this is more difficult than it sounds, as mix one is very “short” and will make spreading mix one a bit onerous…but it’s worth it!)
Mix 2 may not go all the way to the edge of mix one …unless you choose to double mix two …
Put layered mixes into oven for 10-15 minutes, until toothpick comes out dry…
while this is baking prepare step 3…
Step 3
appx 1 cup conf. sugar
food coloring (we always use green, you use what you like.)
1/3 cup finely chopped almonds
mix appx 1 tbsp with conf sugar until it is of glaze consistency…drizzle it in slowly because you may not need the whole tablespoon. Add food coloring and mix well. Glaze should pour off the spoon, not be “spreadable”.
Remove mix 1+2  promptly from oven, and pour mix 3 over the entire surface, spreading with knife as needed. Sprinkle immediately with last 1/3 cup almonds.
Cut while hot into small cookies, appx 1 X 1 then set aside to cool.
When cool, package in airtight container to retain softness (but i like them hard too (huh..once a slut always a slut, i say!)

This should be a story but….

….it’s not.

Nothing carnal got in the way today, sadly enough. Just vanilla life, kinda overflowing. I had a good afternoon with my kids, despite the end of another cold making them a bit grumpy.

But the weather up here in the northeast has been nothing short of fabulous. 65 degrees in early December? Hell, i’ll take it!

And the kids and i made cupcakes for dessert, and baking with kiddo’s takes more time (but is more fun) than if i did it solo. And i am juggling my jobs and and and….

i had insomnia Monday night. And i was too warm and comfortable in my bed to get out and do the yoga pose that helps combat it.

How about that? A *lazy* insomniac!! laughing!

But i was still oh so tired and drained from being with Master.  So i did some facebook, and did some editing on the novel, and finally fell asleep.

And i overslept today…er Tuesday…waking up 2 hours late! i *never* do that! Nice of the family to let me sleep…and turns out that my eldest and youngest sons also were still asleep then.

But it put me off my daily tasks, and that meant no time for writing.

So what can i tell you about?


It does seem that there should be *something* to share with you all.

And then He added the weights. And they kept getting hung up on my corset. It’s not a true corset in that it has hooks in the back rather than ties…so it is much more comfortable to wear.  But i think there was some metal in the front stays, and the magnets were drawn to it.

So if He saw it, He’d flick it off.
